AWWA National Drinking Water Week
May 4-10, 2014

National Drinking Water Week is sponsored by the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and is dedicated to increasing public awareness and involvement in drinking water issues.  As a member of the AWWA, Erwin Utilities will recognize National Drinking Water Week the first week of May – come celebrate with us!

Ramp Festival

May 10, 2014

Join residents of Flag Pond and the people of Unicoi County, Tennessee at the annual Flag Pond Ramp Festival on Saturday May 10, 2014, in the Town of Flag Pond at the Flag Pond Community Center.  There will be a variety of live Bluegrass, Country, and Gospel bands playing your favorite ‘Down Home’ songs.  There will be crafts and events for children.

Wayne Scott Strawberry Festival
May 17, 2014 – Unicoi Elementary School Track:  10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

The Wayne Scott Strawberry Festival is held each May during the peak of our very own Scott’s strawberry season.  At this local tradition you can satisfy your strawberry carvings with an abundance of strawberry desserts, take your “best shot” at the dunking booth – which has been known to occasionally be occupied by county officials, enjoy live music performed by local talent and much, much more!  Consider making this Unicoi County tradition one of your own – and don’t forget the strawberries!

May 22, 2014

54th Annual Southeastern Autorama
June 7, 2014 – Unicoi County Middle School Track:  9 a.m. – 10 p.m.    

The Southeastern Autorama is the longest running consecutive show of its kind in the state of Tennessee, making it a hot spot for car, truck, and motorcycle enthusiasts to gather each summer.  Approximately 150 cars line the track for spectators to enjoy during the event. 

2014 Relay for Life of Unicoi County
September 20, 2014-Unicoi County Middle School Track: 12:00 p.m.

The Unicoi County Relay for Life is an event held each summer that gives everyone in our community a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. This event provides a great opportunity for the residents of Unicoi County to join together and grow as a community.      

Unicoi County Apple Festival
October 3-4, 2014 – Downtown Erwin:  8 a.m. – 8 p.m.

The Unicoi County Apple Festival is the largest tourism event in our area.  Each October, thousands fill downtown Erwin to enjoy live music, homemade crafts, and delicious foods of all varieties.  This year’s festival will mark the 37th year of the “homegrown” tradition.  For more information about the Apple Festival or to inquire about being a vendor at this year’s event, visit http://www.unicoicounty.org/applefest.php.   

APPA Public Power Week
October 5-11, 2014

Public Power Week is sponsored by the American Public Power Association (APPA) and is dedicated to celebrating the importance of providing power to the community.  Erwin Utilities will recognize the week-long event held the first full week of October – come celebrate with us!
